About the Owners

SLR Partners, Mike Dugas and Adam Wells, met twelve years ago at Phil Anschutz' Eagles Nest Ranch, located on the South Platte in Weld County, Colorado.  There they forged a friendship based upon a mutual love of hunting - and an idea was born to one day attempt to recreate a bit of the magic of Eagles Nest.

Mike J. Dugas

Age 46                               

Runs finance, accounting and business development for SLR.

Mike retired from a career in the investments business with Denver-based, Janus Funds in 2006, to pursue his love of hunting, fishing and the outdoors.  This passion had its beginnings in the cypress swamps of the Atchafalaya Basin, live oak forests, bayous and saltwater marshes of the Gulf of Mexico, where as a young boy he spent endless days crawfishing, shrimping, catfishing, redfishing, woodcock hunting, squirrel and deer hunting.  Later, as an adult, Mike would be introduced to the world of big game hunting in the rugged west, rekindling his love of outdoor sports.  Today he is an avid big game hunter, upland and waterfowler, and excited to be introducing his children to our great outdoors.

Adam B. Wells

Age 39

Runs habitat, land management and business development for SLR. 

Adam is professionally and personally dedicated to the protection of our natural resources and the outdoor sporting traditions they provide.  As a child, he roamed as wild and free as the country he lived in, near Rocky Mountain National Park in the Northern Rockies of Colorado.  This early experience created a passion for wildlife and guided Adam to a successful career in the outdoor industry. Adam's knowledge and experience are hard to match and are derived from years of work as a ranch manager; private land wildlife manager; big game, upland bird, and waterfowl outfitter and guide; fly fishing guide; commissioned state parks ranger; partner in an outdoor production and marketing company; and Vice President of an outdoor product manufacturing company.  Through this multi-faceted career, Adam has developed many different avenues for sharing and passing on his appreciation and love for the outdoors to people that have not yet had the fortune of experiencing our great outdoor sporting traditions.
